SelectPad turns an iPad into a wireless proofing station. Your camera sends each JPEG over your own Wi-Fi, it appears on the iPad within seconds, and your client stars the favorites while you keep shooting.
iPad only · iPadOS 18 or later
Everything the client touches is for looking and choosing. Everything else stays with you.
The iPad is your camera's FTP server on your own Wi-Fi router, or on the camera's own Wi-Fi. Photos appear as you shoot; there's no import button and no card to pull.
Browse the grid, open a photo large, swipe and zoom, and rate 1 to 5 stars. Sort by file name or capture time. That's all the client can do.
Stars are written inside each JPEG, the way Photo Mechanic writes them, and only the photo's information changes. Stars set in the camera or in Photo Mechanic arrive already showing.
Export the filenames rated a chosen number of stars or more, as plain text or CSV, and XMP sidecars so the matching RAW files show the stars too.
One session per client or shoot. The originals keep the camera's filenames in a folder you can open in Files, on the iPad or in a folder you choose, iCloud Drive included.
Camera connections, deleting, exports and storage sit behind Photographer Settings, with Face ID or the passcode if you want it. An in-app guide walks through the camera's FTP setup.
Set the camera up once. After that, open SelectPad and shoot.
Join the camera and the iPad to your router, or the iPad to the camera's Wi-Fi, and enter the address the guide shows.
Each JPEG arrives in the session within seconds. Duplicates are kept once.
Give the iPad to your client to browse, zoom and compare.
The client rates 1 to 5 stars, written into each JPEG as they go.
Take the filename list, the RAW sidecars, or the folder straight into Photo Mechanic.
