WireRelay Mac is built to move photos from your camera to a folder on your Mac — nothing more. This page explains what that involves and what happens to your data along the way.
Photos received from your camera are saved to the folder you choose on your Mac. They stay there until you or another app moves or deletes them.
WireRelay Mac does not operate any server of its own and does not send your photos to the internet. Your photos never pass through Oz LLC's infrastructure. They travel directly from your camera to your Mac, over your cable or local network.
FTP is not encrypted. If you use FTP on a shared network, someone else on that network could read the camera's password and see photos as they're sent. SFTP encrypts both. WireRelay Mac explains this in the app and leaves the choice to you.
The app asks macOS for local network access so your camera can reach it.
The login your camera uses to connect to WireRelay Mac and the app's SFTP host key are stored in your Mac's Keychain — Apple's secure, encrypted credential storage built into macOS. They are never sent to Oz LLC.
The app remembers your chosen folder using a permission macOS grants when you select it. It saves files only in that folder and any folders your camera creates inside it.
The Received list and Diagnostics view show file names, device addresses and connection events. They stay on your Mac and are not sent to us. If you choose to copy them into a support email, we'll receive what you send.
WireRelay Mac does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. We don't collect usage data, and we don't share any data with advertisers.
If you contact us for support — by email, for example — we'll have whatever information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address or a description of the issue. We use this only to help resolve what you contacted us about.
The free trial and the one-time unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. The app asks the App Store whether you've started the trial or bought the unlock, and keeps that answer on your Mac. We don't receive your payment details, and the app doesn't send us anything about your purchase.
WireRelay Mac is a professional tool built for working photographers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
